Site Maintenance Manager

Bilfinger Industrial Services Inc., known as a leading provider for complex industrial services, is seeking a Site Maintenance Manager to work within an adhesives manufacturing facility in Grand Rapids, MI. Candidate will be responsible for performing highly diversified duties including routine corrective and preventive maintenance, installation and troubleshooting of plant equipment, safety walk-downs, and other activities necessary to support the achievement of the site’s business goals and objectives.

Responsibilities:

  • Safety is a priority. The Site Maintenance Manager will be responsible for the safety of the entire maintenance crew as well as compliance with all Bilfinger, and Client, Health, Environment and Safety requirements.
  • Lead a dynamic maintenance team in order to achieve maximum maintenance efficiency without affecting the Clients production output.
  • Responsible for reporting of KPIs to Client at regularly scheduled intervals.
  • Partner with Client’s site management team to ensure that all contractual and Client goals and objectives are being met.
  • Effectively manage the Client’s maintenance budget.
  • Attend Client production and scheduling meetings to ensure a seamless integration of maintenance and operations activities.
  • Conduct regular employee performance reviews and provide guidance and discipline as necessary.
  • Maintain proper staffing levels within the maintenance organization.
  • Ensure effective implementation of the Bilfinger Maintenance Concept at the facility.
  • Lead continuous improvement efforts at the site.
  • Assists with subcontractor inquiry packages, bid tabulation/evaluation, pre-award meetings, subcontract writing and monitors subcontractors to final project completion and close out of subcontract
  • Provide supervision to maintenance technicians when necessary.
  • Attend Client Project Meetings as required in order to provide input related to ongoing maintenance activities and project feasibility.
  • Assist the maintenance technicians in troubleshooting of plant equipment as necessary.
  • Work with the Bilfinger Operations Manager to help develop site strategy and growth opportunities.
  • Identify opportunities for increased work within the faciltiy.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Industrial Engineering or Engineering Technology
  • 10+ years of maintenance experience, preferably within a chemical manufacturing environment.
  • 5+ years of direct supervision of employees
  • Strong knowledge of process plant mechanical and electrical equipment, including; pumps, valves, piping, lighting, transformers, motors, gearboxes, mixers, fans, HVAC and boilers.
  • Familiarity with National Electrical Code.
  • Understanding of working within a Computerized Maintenance Management System, MP2 experience preferred.
  • Ability to work at heights.
  • Willing to work nights, weekends or holidays in order to fully support the Client’s production schedule.
  • Ability to work while wearing a respirator or other breathing equipment.
  • This position requires standing, walking, sitting, lifting, carrying, pushing/pulling, balancing, kneeling, and crawling.
