Bilfinger Salamis is a leading international services contractor with a proven track record in providing integrated, multi-disciplined support services and maintenance solutions in the energy, petrochemical, industrial, offshore and utilities sector. We are currently looking for a Commercial Manager based at our Lafayette, LA office location.This position requires a self- motivated individual to lead the commercial management of contracts and projects clustered predominantly in the southern US and Gulf of Mexico, delivering clear commercial controls and driving profitability initiatives and system development throughout the business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create, develop and continually improve the commercial management functions within the business.
  • Ensure that external client and internal deliverables are achieved on time and accurately.
  • Produce reports on contract performance and project controls including, progress, productivity, schedule adherence, cost, budget and forecasts.
  • Ensure that performance measures are put into place to both drive and monitor the success we achieve in delivering our customer’s needs.
  • Scope, time and cost are understood, communicated, monitored and controlled and when required proactive mitigation is evident.
  • Profitability and targets of the contracts and projects are controlled, understood, maintained and maximized.
  • Close relationships with key stakeholders are developed and maintained.
  • Lead and grow the team to ensure estimates and bids are in compliance with all quality processes and company procedures.
  • Identify opportunities for personal growth and development, recognition of talent with a continuous learning environment.
  • Support a strategy to evolve the business by analyzing customer needs and opportunities through data analysis and continuous improvement.
  • Assist in the development of growth strategy through close customer relationships.
  • Monitoring customer feedback and ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Collecting, managing and dispersing knowledge in the organization.
  • Analyzing and monitoring the finance of all projects/contracts, present reports, budgets, forecasts and performance indicators.
  • 30% Travel with ability to travel by plane or vehicle.
  • Required to visit project worksites which include standing, climbing stairs and ladders, stooping, and bending.


  • Experience operating at a senior level at major on and/or offshore sites or equivalent.
  • Delivery and improvement in service contract environment.
  • Managing commercial functions within an industrial services environment.
  • Responsibility for contract P&L account.
  • Initiating, developing and operating a culture of continuous improvement through KPI’s and leading indicators.
  • Successful track record in business growth.


  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, finance or other relevant degree
