Responsibilities:
- Manage client contractors performing industrial maintenance or construction activities with an emphasis on safety, schedule, and quality
- Establish relationships with the client and provide support by developing scopes of work and requesting contractor proposals to satisfy client maintenance or construction needs
- Manage the client’s contractor safety & environmental program
- Conduct preconstruction and postconstruction project safety reviews
- Oversee contractor safety orientation and training
- Host a monthly contractor safety meeting to address any contractor or client safety or environmental concerns
- Support our client’s desire to improve contractor safety performance through coaching and conducting field assessments
- Report contractor safety metrics on a weekly, monthly, and annual basis
- Manage a staff of 2 on site personnel, 1 remote, and 2 at another client location
- Conduct semi-annual and annual performance evaluations on direct reports
- Compile time & material (T&M) invoices monthly and submit invoices to the client
- On a typical workday, 20% of your time would be in an office setting and the remaining 80% will be in a manufacturing facility managing projects & observing and coaching contractors performing construction and maintenance related activities
- The construction manager is expected to be self-motivated and perform assigned responsibilities with minimal supervision
- This position requires the ability to walk extensively and climb stairs & ladders throughout diverse work environments
Qualifications & Skills:
- Minimum of 10 years’ combined construction & safety experience in a Commercial or Industrial Construction setting
- Experience with excavation, rigging, crane operations, demolition, process safety management, confined space, working at heights, steel erection, scaffold, piping & equipment installs, concrete & masonry, carpentry, and other construction activities
- Previous experience managing direct reports
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, time management, and organizational skills. Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- OSHA 30 certification or equivalent safety and health training
- Familiarity with ISNetworld (ISN) desired but not required
